Fraser Cerra, LLC Attorneys at Law, The Fraser Cerra Foundation, The Sparta Township Police Department and The Mohawk House have partnered together to offer the services of certified car seat technicians for Child Car Seat Safety Day on October 21, 2017, from 9 am to 1 pm at The Mohawk House in Sparta, NJ.
“We are very excited to offer this important opportunity to offer a free child car seat inspection for families to make sure their children’s seats are installed properly,” states Lauren Fraser, Managing Partner at Fraser Cerra, LLC and Trustee of The Fraser Cerra Foundation. “Everyone who comes will have their child’s car seat checked for proper installation or reinstalled by certified car seat technicians from the Sparta Township Police Department.”
According to a May 2015 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, child restraint systems are often used incorrectly. An estimated 46% of car and booster seats (59% of car seats and 20% of booster seats) are misused in a way that could reduce their effectiveness. The American Academy of Pediatrics 2017 Report states that car seat use reduces the risk for death to infants (aged <1 year) by 71%; and to toddlers (aged 1–4 years) by 54% in passenger vehicles.
“Knowing these statistics, we felt compelled to do something and to offer an opportunity for safer conditions for children in Sussex County,” states, Janine Cerra, Founding Partner at Fraser Cerra. “We encourage everyone to attend this event – parents, grandparents, babysitters, members of the school community and anyone who transports children in their vehicle.”
The Mohawk House in Sparta, NJ is hosting the event and will be donating a chance to win a top of the line Britax Convertible Car Seat. There will be refreshments and a chance to win other prizes as well.
